Regional Entrepreneurs Shine in CMP Business Areas During FOREDE 2025

As part of its ongoing commitment to engage with local communities through various support programs and initiatives aimed at strengthening businesses and creating greater growth opportunities, Compañía Minera del Pacífico (CMP)highlighted the talent of regional women entrepreneurs during FOREDE 2025.

At the CMP Business Area within the Expo FOREDE 2025 — an event that brought together key stakeholders from the business, public, and social sectors of the Atacama Region — several local women showcased handcrafted, gastronomic, and regionally inspired products. This platform, the result of a year’s dedicated work, enhanced their visibility among mining companies, public institutions, and potential business partners.

“Our purpose is to build a different kind of mining industry, and community engagement is a fundamental part of our shared value,” said Francisco Carvajal, General Manager of CMP. “That’s why, in such a relevant showcase as FOREDE, we wanted to include empowered and talented women from the Huasco and Copiapó valleys, giving them the opportunity to display their products, expand their businesses, and contribute to local development through greater economic and social dynamism.”

The initiative, led by CMP, seeks to promote female entrepreneurship and encourage the active participation of neighboring communities in spaces of economic development. Through its commitment to inclusion and shared value creation, the company has implemented programs that provide training, tools, and ongoing support to women entrepreneurs—strengthening their management skills and integration into regional value chains.

Lorena Arancibia, a visual artist from the area who participated in FOREDE through CMP’s Business Area, emphasized the importance of this opportunity:

“For many of us, not just me, this space offers a window of visibility to showcase our work to the Atacama community.”

Similarly, Natalia Mendoza, a jeweler who creates unique pieces using different stones, valued CMP’s support:

“It’s amazing — it gives us the chance to exhibit our work, make new connections, grow our social media presence, and help our local craft reach broader markets.”

CMP’s participation in Expo FOREDE 2025 reaffirms its commitment to local development and community engagement, generating spaces that promote collaboration, sustainable growth, and the strengthening of the regional economy. By working together with entrepreneurs, authorities, and social organizations, CMP continues to foster opportunities that contribute to the well-being and integral development of the territories where it operates.
