On Saturday, May 27, a great sports festival was held in the port community, where more than 55 athletes from various parts of the country gathered to give life to the 'Huasco Triathlon 2023', successfully organized by the Guacolda Sports and Cultural Club of Compañía Minera del Pacífico (CMP).
The triathletes had to overcome three challenges according to their respective categories: Olympic and sprint; starting with swimming at Playa Grande, continuing with cycling along the coastal route towards the Baratillo sector, and finishing with the jogging section along the coastal promenade until reaching the longed-for finish line.
Finally, in the longer distance category, the winners were Cristian Moller and Carolina Almeida, both from the Albatros Club of the Coquimbo region. In the shorter distance category, the winners were Carlos Cortés, from the Triathlon branch of the Universidad Católica Sports Club, and Catalina Araya, an athlete from Huasco.
