The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Chile’s largest iron ore supplier, Compañía Minera del Pacífico (CMP) and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) will strengthen their relationship and promote the structuring of projects to increase the resilience of high-quality iron ore supply chains, which contribute to the transition to carbon neutrality in steel production processes.

We are the first mining company to promote an executive committee with gender parity

Compañía Minera del Pacífico (CMP) announced the appointment of three new managers to its executive committee, which as of March 1, 2023 will be made up of five women and five men. In this way, the company became the first mining company to achieve gender parity in executive positions, increasing the participation of women in these roles from 40% to 50%.

Compañía Minera del Pacífico (CMP) was recognized with the “Explotación de Minas y Canteras” award for its 6 million hours worked without occupational accidents during the year 2021, positioning itself as the company with the lowest incident rate in the mining industry. 35 young apprentices join our operations in the Huasco Valley

With an emphasis on sustainability, we began construction of the DRF

On Thursday, February 10, and in line with the obligations established in the environmental authorizations, workers of the Humeres company received training on paleontology and archeology, learning about what could be found in the area of influence of the DRF and the protocols to follow in case the aforementioned collaborating company is executing the Coastal Road project, which in addition to constituting the initial works of the Filtered Tailings Deposit (DRF) Pellet Plant, will facilitate the movement for the development of community, tourist and productive activities in the territory.
